FO - Interlocking Balloons

YEAH for the end of last minute Christmas knitting! (Next year I will plan better! - But I say that EVERY year.)

Pattern: Interlocking Balloons by Shirly Paden in Scarf Style

Materials: Plymouth Encore KD (75% acrylic 24% wool) in color 1384 Royal Purple - just shy of three full 50g skeins (aprox 440 yards)

Notes: size 6 US needles Did 8 repeats instead of 10. Size of blocked piece is 8 x 57 inches point to point.

Comments: despite this being a rushed project, I really enjoyed it. The 44 line repeat was only difficult the first time around; by the center of the scarf I was just using the pattern to remind myself of the increases and decreases. (There are two types of increases and three types of decreases.) This is a good pattern for an advanced beginner who wants to get into cables without a huge cable commitment as there are only three cables in each of the main pattern repeats and only one in the end repeats.

Blocked firmly to open up the pattern and shape the ends:

Here I bought the yarn and planned for Christmas, they get off the ground, they fly slowly, , then more quickly, and finally very quickly indeed.
