This week is the start of the 'cherry blossoms' area in this pattern. The yarn overs that make the holes start out very isolated in a sea of stocking stitch.
As you get closer and closer to the other end, the holes will get more frequent and closer together, but for right now, there's a LOT of plain knitting going on. Since it's knit flat, it's not quite as mindless as the body of a sweater knit in the round. But close.
