A little grey swatch

Isn't it like magic? Something that looks like a wadded up mess gets turned into

something beautiful just by the application of water and firmness?

This is the swatch for the Mystery Stole 3". Material is Jaggerspun "Zephyr" (50% wool, 50% silk) in colorway "Pewter" from the NSLYS. The color is closer in the first picture (unblocked). The designer said that white and black would be the most appropriate colors. I already HAVE a Black Shawl. And a white one, too. So this pale silver grey is a good choice.

Needles US4 (Knit Picks Options)

Notes on the swatch. Size US000 sock needles are subbing for my blocking wires. And yes, I threw in a lifeline at the end of the third pattern repeat. WHY? - well the original directions called for 1200 yards of lace weight yarn. The designer was still knitting on the prototype. Turns out you only need about 3/4 of that. So, I'll have leftovers. And this little swatch is the perfect width for a scarf to wear with a suit jacket at the office - a perfect color, too. Why waste the knitting time?

Mods: Cast on two extra stitches and tried out the slipped stitch edge. It works and blocks out just fine.
