Decision on the heel flaps.
Well, I knit about four or five rows on the Horcrux Sox heel flap with the garter borders and standard heel stitch. The borders were fine, but the heel stitches were lining up weird with the uneven number of stitches in the ribbing repeat and the whole thing just seemed 'unbalanced' somehow.
So I tinked back and started over in eye of partrige stitch and it looks just fine. There's texture there, but it doesn't fight with the ribbing pattern. The garter borders are great too. They continue the garter part of the ribbing. If you look closely, you can see that I moved the heel flap over to center exactly on two of the garter panels in the leg. It's a subtle thing, but one of the little tricks to make the pattern a bit more elegant.
I love 'tweaking' a pattern to fix little things like this or to personalize it. I like my knits to be 'just so'. Now nobody would ever notice if that heel wasn't perfectly centered, but *I* would know.

Nice tweak -- I like the flow.
Thanks! I can get a bit obsessive on the details some time. LOL
Since the yarn is so plain on these socks, all the detail stuff is going to matter.
