The first cuff of the Violet's Old Shale socks is long enough to try on. And it Doesn't FIT. I know better than to trust a pattern that says "Women's medium". I have size 8 feet (US sizing), but they are wider than normal and I have heavy ankles. And these sock just won't make it over my heels. I KNEW I should have added another pattern repeat or gone with a size larger needles or both.
I've reskeined the yarn and am in a nasty blue funk over my knitting right now. Hey, at least it was just a sock cuff and not a whole sweater.
