Better Late than Never ...

seems to be my motto lately. Remember back about a year and half ago? I promised my co-worker, Lori, a pair of hand knit socks. Well, she just graduated from college and so as a combination (VERY late) promised gift and graduation gift, I finally cast on her socks

I wanted something special, so I am doing the lace socks from Nancy Bush's "Knitting Vintage Socks".

The yarn is special too. It's by Tsarina Tsock's custom dyer. And man, it is lush. The color is just right, just barely there variances. It's a superwash, too. That's important for busy moms who don't have time to hand wash their socks.

A close up of the cuff shows both the lovely yarn and the delicate lace ribbing. I may have to do these again for myself!

Hi Karla,
Thanks for your comment! I know 50 isn't old... it's a state of mind I say! I haven't heard of any Lyra KAL, but I'm not in Ravelry. I think there might be a Yahoo Group (Niebling). Pretty cool that you're learning how to make kilts! I like your Bee Shawl too - very pretty! m :)
