the Yarn Harlot ROCKS

I'm back safe and sound after seeing the Yarn Harlot in Wichita. A 2.5 hour drive each way, but SO worth it!

Thoughts and (hopefully) pictures later. I am WIPED. All I can say right now is, if you have a chance to see her in person, do it. She is hysterically funny and as nice in person as she seems from her blog and books.

From henceforth one of the Dublin Bay socks will have the Stephanie Pearl-McFee commerative heel stitch - an odd mix of eye of partridge and standard heel stitch caused by me laughing so hard I forgot my stitch count. Like I said, she's a riot (in a good way).

Edit to add PICTURES!!! (photo's courtesy of Mike & Violet - very generously shared with myself - a total stranger whose camera took a low battery powder due to being chucked into a knitting bag and inadvertently left on for the entire drive from Topeka to Wichita!)

Steph signing books

a good part of THE CROWD - I'm back in the peanut gallery; since I was the hat person, I wanted to keep an eye on them, just in case.

The first installment of hats. We will be collecting for a couple more weeks at Watermark Books (the event's sponsor) and Twist (Wichita's premier yarn shop)

The picture of Steph and the proper side of me didn't turn out - nothing wrong with the photo, but I look like I'm snarling - I am SO not putting that one up.
