Hedera in Progress - a tale of two legs

Behold, there is actually progress on the Hedera Socks for my Sockapalooza pal! I am, in fact, ready to start the heel flaps.

The designer, the very talented Cookie A, did a very nifty thing on this sock. She moved the heel flap in one stitch on one side. The heel is worked on one stitch less than one-half the stitches. That lets the twisted stitches follow down from the twisted ribbing to gracefully frame the gusset. Now that's the kind of detail that I tend to obsess about on my own socks and tweak if the designer didn't do it for me.

This also, not coincidentally, centers the heel flap on a repeat of the twisted stitch. Let's hear it for perfect symmetry!!

This is my first Cookie A project, but I foresee many more in my future.......

The socks look lovely--this is the second gorgeous pair I've seen today, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to keep from casting a pair on! Thanks for the detail about the heel flap--it's nice to hear that the pattern is so well written.

Just wonder... Why do you spell them hedra and not hedera? Well it´s funny this changement : )

LOL - I never even noticed my erratic spelling. I hope Cookie A doesn't read my blog!

I'll fix the post titles and the project name over in Ravelry, but in the posts themselves, you'll just have to put up with the missing "e".

Thanks for dropping by.
